Clinical Hypnotherapy is the use of a deep state of relaxation to counter physical and psychological problems, and effect behavioural change.
Conditions such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression, anxiety disorders, Fibromyalgia and Irritable Bowel Syndrome can all be greatly helped by clinical hypnosis, to name but a few. It is also very effective in countering the side effects of drugs and treatments for many cancers.
There are numerous misconceptions about hypnosis, but essentially, in clinical hypnotherapy, clients are guided into an altered state of consciousness, or hypnotic trance, to slow the vibration of the conscious mind and allow communication with the subconscious mind.
While in hypnosis, by harnessing the power of the subconscious mind, it is actually possible for a person to:
- alter their heart or respiration rate, and control bleeding
- diminish or eliminate pain, even in childbirth
- create a state of anesthesia for medical and dental surgery
- discover the root causes of emotional issues which are creating psychological and physical symptoms
- reduce or eliminate phobias
- diminish stress and overcome insomnia
Clinical hypnotherapy is a confidential procedure in which the client does not even need to share the enlightenment he or she receives during sessions with the hypnotherapist. The hypnotherapist is simply the guide to help the client get the most out of each deep relaxation session.
Clinical hypnotherapy is also highly effective at helping people give up anti-social habits such as smoking, nail-biting, overeating and substance abuse. ‘Habits’ such as these often become deeply engrained activities, which a person can find very hard to stop using ‘will power’ alone. Clinical hypnotherapy allows a person to effectively reprogram their subconscious mind to eliminate the habit.
Clinical hypnotherapy also allows people to program their minds for sporting, corporate and battle success, through the power of visualisation. Visualisation can greatly help enhance mental and physical performance, and build mental resilience.
