The Beat Retreat offers online clinical hypnotherapy sessions at a fraction of the normal price of clinical hypnotherapy, and at a time to suit its clients worldwide. Group sessions take place in the middle of the evening in Asia, the US and the UK. Individual consultations are also available at any time. Clinical hypnotherapy is suitable for anyone aged 8 years and above.

The clinical hypnotherapy techniques employed in group sessions mean no personal information will be revealed to the hypnotherapist, or other participants, at any time; although the hypnotherapist is available for one free 30 minute consultation a week for confidential discussion.  Also, clients who wish to, are welcome to participate in group discussions before and/or after the hypnosis session. The sessions take place via Zoom video conferencing.

The schedule for The Beat Retreat group hypnotherapy sessions is listed below. Group hypnotherapy courses run for four weeks, with one 90-minute session per week, and the cost is $100 USD in total; so just $25 per session!

If you prefer one-on-one hypnosis sessions, the cost is $200 for four sessions. One-off sessions cost $70 USD. The fee is to be paid in advance via Paypal. All you need to do is send an email stating which course(s) you would like to join.

Hypnosis works best when hypnotic suggestions are repeated and compounded. That is why each online hypnotherapy course spans four sessions. Research studies have shown that four sessions, over 21-30 days, is the minimum number required to ensure longterm successful change, or to embed hypnotic processes into the subconscious. If you feel you need a little more hypnotherapy, you are welcome to sign up for a second course, or swap to individual clinical hypnotherapy sessions.

All online clinical hypnotherapy sessions are 90 minutes long. The first 15 minutes of each session allows participants to share any feelings they have about developments during the week – what they succeeded at; what they found difficult etc. The hypnosis session itself lasts 45 minutes.  Afterwards there will be a 30 minute window for anyone to discuss whatever they may want to discuss in an open forum, with the therapist and other participants. It is not obligatory to participate in group discussions. However, studies have shown that the success of hypnotherapy is often greatly enhanced when clients are able to draw on the support of a community of people dealing with the same issues.

Answers to any concerns you might have about online hypnotherapy

What if the video link goes down? How will I wake up? 

If the link goes down during the hypnosis session, your body will wake you naturally when it sees fit. While in clinical hypnosis you are in a deep state of relaxation and enjoying all the benefits health-wise that brings, so losing connection will not mean you lose any of the benefit of your session, however another session will be offered free of charge in its place. I specifically use Zoom video conferencing rather than Skype as it is an extremely stable method of face-to-face consultation. However, technological failures cannot be ruled out. For that reason, if you are concerned you will not wake up in time for another appointment, you can set the alarm on your telephone, or you can make sure someone else is home to wake you personally at an appointed time.

How do you make clinical hypnotherapy personal to me in a group session? 

Your subconscious mind makes the group clinical hypnotherapy session personal to you! Direct suggestions will be phrased to allow you to work on matters of most concern to you, within your own mind.  Likewise, visualisation suggestions will give your subconscious mind the option to imagine whatever would be useful to you to help you resolve your issues. Clinical hypnotherapy for problems like phobias and giving up smoking are accomplished through specific hypnotherapy scripts with direction relevant to any phobia.

What if I do not want everyone to know my business? 

There is no need to share any of your personal information with any members of the group. You will never be asked any personal questions on the video link. You may participate as passively as you wish, simply listening to the clinical hypnotherapy session and following the directions. You do not even need to turn on your camera if you prefer not to. However, if you do wish to share anything with other members of the group, you may do so before or after the hypnosis session. If you wish to discuss any matters with the therapist in private after the sessions, your payment entitles you to one free 30-minute confidential consultation each week, to discuss anything which is troubling you, or your subconscious has revealed to you.

What if I just want to attend the sessions and not the ‘homework’? 

The effort you put into the online hypnotherapy course will be directly reflected in the personal success you achieve from it. Self hypnosis is a hugely valuable tool to use between weekly sessions, and you will be taught it, as part of the course. The more times in a week that you use it, the more you are compounding the benefits of hypnotherapy. Four sessions will be very effective at changing your behaviour, but 28 sessions of hypnosis will be exponentially better. In addition you may be asked to keep a habit journal to help you identify your stressors and motivations. Again, this will be extremely useful to you in reframing your habit or issue. But at the end of the day the course is a personal one, and this is not school! You may do what you believe is useful to you.

How do I know you are qualified clinical hypnotherapy professional? 

You are welcome to verify my credentials, with the Association of Registered Clinical Hynotherapists (ARCH) in Canada, and should you have any reason to complain about my services, you may address your concerns directly to that organisation. I would be subject to a disciplinary procedure for any complaints you may make. I also hold insurance to practice clinical hypnotherapy, from ARCH.

How do I know you won’t hypnotise me to do something I don’t want to do? 

When you are in a state of deep relaxation during clinical hypnotherapy you are fully aware of your surroundings, and aware of what you are being asked to imagine or think. You still have free will. Your subconscious mind would not let you do anything which went against your belief set. You would simply wake up. You can bring yourself out of hypnosis at any time, even if you just do not want to continue with the visualisation exercise. If you are so relaxed that you have drifted off to sleep, your subconscious mind is always awake and will ignore suggestions, or wake you, if it saw fit.
